Golem - a clay statue, which according to legend was created at the end of the 16th century by the Jewish scholar Rabbi Löw to protect the Prague Jewish ghetto. After he created it out of clay, he gave it the name Josille (diminutive of Joseph). The golem was set in motion by inserting a shem - a scroll. The golem then obeyed the person who put the shem in its mouth and performed the designated work.
According to legend, the Golem was stored in the attic of the Old Synagogue, where it was not allowed to enter since then, and only two people were granted permission to explore it - Egon Erwin Kisch unsuccessfully searched for it in 1920 and Ivan Mackerle in the 1980s with the help of GPR.
