Is history boring? Definitely not with Action Mom. Mommy-reporter finds out where the original of our anthem is stored, saves the dress of a First Republic film star, discusses the defence of the country in 1938 with tin soldiers, gets an elevator overturned in Zlin and finds herself in Gottwaldov, watches the arrival of the soldiers in 1968 in a radio building, experiences totalitarianism with a TV presenter, recalls why people jingled keys in November 1989, and experiences the division of Czechoslovakia in Villa Tugendhat. In 11 fairy tales, Michaela Vetešková introduces children to the most important milestones of our 20th century history, from the establishment of an independent Czechoslovakia in 1918 to its division in 1992. The book is accompanied by an "explanatory note" in which the facts appearing in the fairy tales are briefly described. It focuses on personalities such as President Tomáš G. Masaryk, Edvard Beneš, Klement Gottwald, Václav Havel, as well as events such as the signing of the Munich Agreement and institutions, including Czech Radio.

A unique book that introduces young readers to the communist era, the years 1948-1989, when ordinary people lived, worked and dreamed behind the Iron Curtain in Czechoslovakia.
The author's story, accompanied by beautiful illustrations, perceptively and with a deep understanding of the crucial moments in the life of perhaps the most beloved of Czech composers and looks into the mystery of the creation of his works.
The novel The Unbearable Lightness of Being was first published in French translation in 1984 in Paris by Gallimard, and in 1985 in Czech in Canada by Sixty-Eight Publishers.
