Kupka - men's tričko black

  • 449 Kč

A master of abstraction, a gifted artist, but also a soldier or a respected professor. František Kupka is undoubtedly one of the greats of Czech artistic creation with worldwide fame. This painter, graphic artist and illustrator ranks among the founders of modern abstract painting and his paintings are among the most expensive Czech works, whose values are breaking records and which are still in great demand among collectors. But who was Kupka? Born into a clerical family in Opočno, his talent took him first to the Prague Academy, then to Vienna and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He gravitated towards mysticism and, in addition to art, he made a living as a spirit medium. During the First World War, he volunteered for the front and helped organize the Czechoslovak Legion in France. After the war, he devoted himself to lecturing and teaching in Prague and Paris, where he eventually died in 1957. What motifs can be found in Kupka's work? From Symbolism and Spiritualism, to Futurism and Orphism, of which he was a pioneer, he tried to bring his art closer to music and poetry. In his abstract paintings one can thus perceive lights, sounds, but also subjective impressions and feelings. Between 1911 and 1912, Kupka was inspired by the physicist Isaac Newton and created a series of paintings called Newton's Disks, one of which we have transferred to our T-shirts. Every lover of not only modern art can thus publicly show their admiration for this artist, but also express their pride in the level of Czech painting and art in general.
