Lada - women's

This is not Joseph Lada. This is an illustration created by Ina Dubava, a student at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia. Like the famous pipe of the Belgian surrealist René Magritte, this illustration is a symbol, a representation, it is not the real Josef Lada. A T-shirt for lovers of art, philosophy, but also satire or, for example, Mike the Cat is an interesting original with an even more interesting subtext. And who was Josef Lada? He probably needs no introduction. A gifted illustrator and painter who made his mark on Czech history with a unique style, he lived between 1887 and 1957. We all know him from his bedtime stories, calendars and postcards, as well as from Hašek's Švejk. But did you know that Lada was blind in one eye? That he both illustrated and wrote Mikes the Cat? And that the artist described himself as a nervous and sanguine person?
