Cabaret - Restaurant Lucerna belonged, and its successor in the still functioning arcade of the Lucerna Palace still belongs today, to the stalwarts not only of Prague, but of the Czech cultural scene in general. We have therefore included a period advertising poster attracting visitors to the programme in the famous space among the motifs of Boheme. You can see it live in the collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.

The construction of the Lucerna Palace was started in 1907 by businessman Václav Havel (grandfather of the future playwright and president) and completed 4 years later. The unique building in Vodičkova Street mixes classic Art Nouveau architecture with new elements and materials, it is also the first ever arcade house in Prague, which makes it a unique monument. Why is it called Lucerna? Firstly, the lanterns hang at the entrance to the passage, and secondly, it derives from the design of the facade - large windows with narrow sills made of artificial stone, bay windows and balconies...

Today, the Lucerna Music Bar hosts the leading names of the Czech and international scene, in the past there was the Lucerna Cabaret led by Karel Hašler, or the Lucerna Cabaret - Restaurant, where you could meet Voskovec and Werich.
